Salt and desert. Drought and heat. “I met an inhospitable, at the same time picturesque landscape in the north of Chile”, says Nico Schaerer. The dryness in this area is noticeable: after only two days you can see it in the mirror – the wrinkles on the face become deeper. The skin is rough and brittle. Nature is barren. Marked by clear lines. “A landscape that meets my visual language,” says the Swiss photographer. He drove through the desert on his motorcycle for several days. And he still likes to remember that time.
