nuvu – a review

The nuvu Story – the first chapter is written

The story began in …

A year ago the nuvu story officially began. But the friendship between photographer Nico Schaerer and travel journalist Martin Hoch, the basis of nuvu, began almost four years ago. The first encounter, one suspects, did not take place in Switzerland, but on journeys: in Patagonia. Nico Schaerer crossed South America with his motorcycle for several months, Martin Hoch explored the continents with his VW bus. In the Pumalín Park, in the midst of wild nature, in retrospect a significant place for the birth of nuvu, people got to know each other. Over a Rösti and a Malbec.

nuvu on the road

The foundation of nuvu are pictures that open a window into the world to the viewer. Therefore we regularly travel around the world together. Our image productions are complex – we often use helicopters, light planes, hot air balloons or drones for aerial photography. At the same time, we seek proximity to the locals. We record the experiences in reports for various newspapers and magazines.

Our first trip took us to Rio de Janeiro. Further picture productions followed. They took us to La Réunion, the south of China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Laos, New York, Iceland, Lapland and other exciting places on our planet.

nuvu reports in SWISS Magazine

This year we travelled to Amsterdam and the Azores exclusively for SWISS Magazine (SWISS International Airlines in-flight magazine). A vibrant city and a natural island world.

nuvu.ch – our online gallery goes public

We launched nuvu.ch in January 2017. The online gallery is the core of nuvu. Here we present our limited fine art prints and offer a comfortable ordering service. Of course, we also offer tailor-made solutions for special requests.

Satisfied customers

It is satisfying to be on the road for photo productions, even better when the pictures finally adorn the walls of satisfied customers. We appreciate the dialogue with the viewers and this year we had a lot of positive feedback from our numerous customers from Switzerland, Dubai, USA, Brazil, Holland, Belgium and other countries. It motivates us if we can give the viewer a pleasure with our pictures and open a window into the world for them.

Successful cooperation with business customers

The nuvu image worlds, which convey clarity and tranquillity, are excellently suited for the interior of representative buildings. In our first year, we were already able to implement several image concepts for business customers.

Our nuvu galleries

Shortly after nuvu was founded, we received our first customers in our nuvu Atelier & Gallery in Zurich Seefeld. Our customers appreciate the dialogue, would like to learn more about us and our products, and would like to examine the various materials before placing an order. For this reason, we opened a nuvu Gallery in Flims in mid-December. This at the best location in Flims-Waldhaus at Promenada 31. Another good reason to visit the Bündner Bergdorf.

The journey continues …

We would like to thank our customers and all those who accompany our work for the trust they have placed in us. Special thanks go to Robin Schaerer, who supports nuvu with a great deal of commitment and expertise during on-site installations. At the same time, we are looking forward to further exciting projects in the coming year. One thing is certain: The journey continues.
